Domaine du Petit Oratoire

Who: Lori Haon, the youngest winemaker of Mélusine Wines, at 23 years old!

Where: Valliguières, 30210

Vineyards: “What is important of course, lies under our feet! …

Far from the monotony of some large areas around, Valliguieres is relatively well supplied
in terms of exposure and terroirs.
On the edge of the Valliguières (source formerly used to supply part of the aqueduct of the
Pont du Gard) there a lot of alluvial deposits deposited on some 1M5 / 2 M above ground.
5 of my hectares are located on this plot, alternating sand and light loam on the surface with veins of gray marl / soft limestone.
This geological peculiarity is interesting, the vines express more lightness and lift in their
tannins and concentration.

I practice biodynamic principles in the vineyard and am certified in organic agriculture.

Our grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Terret Noir, Black Picpoul, Cinsault,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Caladoc, Mourvèdre, Pinot Noir.
For whites: Clairette rose, Grenache Blancs, Viognier, Bourboulenc, Roussanne, Clairette
white, Riesling and this year first Savagnin rose.

Cellar: The grapes are very regularly sampled, tasted, analyzed and this parcel per plot to
determine the style, the concentration, the color, the fragility of the material …
Following this, we decide to harvest this or that plot (rarely the vineyard in its entirety
for that matter).

Bottled by gravity, the majority of our wines are made with no added sulfites. I strive to elaborate my wines with as little to zero added sulphites, I do not forbid myself to add it, and if I do add, I will say it. When I do have to add sulphites, it is at levels inferior to 10 mg/liter.”
